AMD has officially unveiled its highly anticipated Radeon RX 9000 Series graphics cards, bringing the next-generation RDNA 4 architecture to the forefront of gaming and AI-driven computing. The newly launched Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 promise to deliver a significant leap in performance, visual fidelity, and AI-powered acceleration for both gamers and creators.

A New Era of Gaming Performance

The Radeon RX 9000 Series introduces a range of advancements, including third-generation raytracing technology, second-generation AI accelerators, and AMD’s latest Radiance Display Engine. These GPUs are designed to handle high-resolution gaming, ensuring immersive visuals, higher frame rates, and enhanced overall performance.

With 16GB of GDDR6 memory, the RX 9000 Series GPUs are built to tackle modern AAA gaming titles with ease. Benchmarks indicate that the Radeon RX 9070 outperforms the previous generation RX 7900 GRE by over 20% in 1440p gaming, while the RX 9070 XT extends that lead to over 40% on average.

Key Features of the AMD Radeon RX 9000 Series:

  • Next-Gen AMD RDNA 4 Compute Units – Up to 64 enhanced compute units deliver up to 40% higher gaming performance than the previous RDNA 3 architecture.

  • Advanced Raytracing – Third-generation Raytracing Accelerators provide 2x the raytracing throughput per compute unit, creating realistic lighting, shadows, and reflections.

  • Supercharged AI Acceleration – Second-generation AI Accelerators offer up to 8x INT8 throughput per AI accelerator, improving creative workflows and AI processing.

  • FidelityFX Super Resolution 4 (FSR 4) – AMD’s new machine-learning-powered upscaling technology enhances gaming visuals and performance, with over 30 supported games at launch

  • HYPR-RX Technology – Includes Radeon Super Resolution, Fluid Motion Frames 2.1, Radeon Anti-Lag, and Radeon Boost to enhance FPS, responsiveness, and efficiency.

  • Radiance Display Engine – Supports DisplayPort 2.1a and HDMI 2.1b, enabling 8K 144Hz refresh rates, 12-bit HDR, and full REC2020 color space for ultra-realistic visuals.

AI-Powered Gaming & Content Creation

The Radeon RX 9000 Series isn’t just about gaming. These GPUs introduce AI-enhanced performance optimizations through AI-accelerated FidelityFX Super Resolution 4 (FSR 4), leveraging FP8-based machine learning models to upscale game visuals with better clarity, stability, and reduced ghosting. Additionally, the AI-Enhanced AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition™ brings new tools, including an AI-driven software manager, private AI chat, and an app portal for AI applications.

Pricing and Availability

The AMD Radeon RX 9000 Series graphics cards will be available from leading partners, including ASUS, ASRock, Gigabyte, PowerColor, Sapphire, XFX, and Yeston, starting March 6, 2025. Pricing is set at $599 USD for the Radeon RX 9070 XT and $549 USD for the Radeon RX 9070.
