New AI-Powered Technologies, Game Updates, and NVIDIA App Enhancements Deliver Unprecedented Visual Fidelity and Performance

Santa Clara, CA – 30th January 2025 – NVIDIA today announced the release of DLSS 4, the next evolution of its groundbreaking Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) technology, featuring DLSS Multi Frame Generation for GeForce RTX 50 Series graphics cards and laptops. Alongside the launch of the GeForce RTX 5090 and GeForce RTX 5080, NVIDIA is rolling out a new GeForce Game Ready Driver, NVIDIA Studio Driver, and a major NVIDIA App update, bringing a host of innovations to gamers, creators, and professionals.
DLSS 4: A Leap Forward in AI-Powered Gaming
DLSS 4 introduces transformative upgrades, including:
Transformer-Based AI Models: DLSS Super Resolution, DLSS Ray Reconstruction, and DLAA are now powered by the graphics industry’s first real-time application of transformers, the same architecture behind AI models like ChatGPT and Gemini. This results in improved temporal stability, reduced ghosting, and higher detail in motion.
Enhanced Frame Generation: The DLSS Frame Generation AI model has been upgraded to boost performance and reduce VRAM usage on GeForce RTX 50 Series and 40 Series GPUs.
Multi Frame Generation: DLSS 4 generates up to three additional frames per traditionally rendered frame, working in unison with other DLSS technologies to multiply frame rates by up to 8X over traditional rendering. This enables stunning 4K 240 FPS fully ray-traced gaming on GeForce RTX 5090 graphics cards.
DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation is now available in over 75 games and apps, with more titles adding support in the future.
Game Updates: Elevating Visuals and Performance
Several blockbuster games are receiving updates to leverage DLSS 4:
Alan Wake 2: Enhanced with DLSS 4, RTX Mega Geometry, and an Ultra quality ray tracing preset.
Cyberpunk 2077: DLSS 4 boosts performance by 9.2X at 4K with RT Overdrive Mode enabled.
Hogwarts Legacy: Adds DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, multiplying frame rates by 4X on GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs.
Star Wars™ Outlaws™: Coming soon with DLSS 4 and upgraded AI models.
DOOM: The Dark Ages: Launching May 15 with DLSS 4 enhancements.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2: DLSS 4 support coming in a future update.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II: Launching February 4 with DLSS Super Resolution and DLAA.
Additional titles like Black Myth: Wukong, Marvel Rivals, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle™, and NARAKA: BLADEPOINT will soon add DLSS Multi Frame Generation.
GeForce Game Ready Driver and NVIDIA App Updates
The new GeForce Game Ready Driver and NVIDIA Studio Driver bring support for DLSS 4, RTX game updates, and new NVIDIA App features, including:
DLSS 4 Overrides: Upgrade over 75 games and apps to DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation.
NVIDIA Smooth Motion: A new driver-based AI model for smoother gameplay on GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs.
NVIDIA Broadcast: Adds two new AI-powered effects—Studio Voice and Virtual Key Light.
RTX Video Super Resolution: Now supports HDR video and uses 30% fewer GPU resources.
Advanced Optimus: Dynamically switches between integrated and discrete GPUs for laptops.
NVIDIA App: Your Essential Companion
The latest NVIDIA App update introduces:
DLSS 4 Overrides: Activate DLSS 4 in unsupported games and apps.
RTX Video Super Resolution HDR Support: Upscales HDR video to native resolution.
Multiple Display Settings: Enhanced control for multi-monitor setups.
Advanced Optimus: Optimizes GPU usage for laptops.
